Sorry if this isn’t in the right topic, I’ve no idea what I’m doing 🫣
So a few days ago I noticed these weird spots/marks on my two year olds tongue. I thought it was food at first stuck to his tongue. He had a bout of mild diarrhoea (more just like pooing more regularly really) that I put down to him teething but now I’m wondering if it’s related to this issue but is otherwise completely fine. The spots aren’t on the roof of his mouth, he won’t let me look properly at the back of his throat, I can just see his tongue and the spots have gotten worse the last two days (more of them) and now has what looks like an ulcer on the inside of his bottom lip.
I’ve taken him to the doctors and my son wouldn’t let the doctor look in his mouth and so the doctor just looked at the pictures on my phone and just said he would guess that it’s oral thrush 🤷🏻♀️ he gave me some drops. I’m having a nightmare getting him to take them
to be honest but that’s an issue for another time. I’ve never seen oral thrush look like this, I thought it was more of a white coating on your tongue? I’ve asked my friend who is a doctor at a hospital and he said it’s not thrush and would say it’s a symptom of a virus and it’ll go on its own.. as they’ve gotten worse, I went to the pharmacist today and shown him the pictures and he said he’s never seen anything like this before, has no idea what it could be and reckons it’s an airborne virus that will just go on it’s own.
i have terrible anxiety and just wondering if anyone has ever encountered anything like this with their children? He’s still breastfeeding if that makes any difference to anything. Thank you
