DO you ever have periods that stop and then start again the next day?

don't know what it is about, but yes, I often have a period that lasts for about 3 days, stops for a day or so, then restarts for another day or 2.

ClareVoiant · 04/03/2008 16:25

yes, every month. horribly heavy and painful for 3 days, then nothing for 24hours,then light for 3-4 days.

i dont know why? used to catch me out when i was younger.

I think i'd like an explaination too

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 04/03/2008 16:26

yep, mine do this after the heavy part of af (sorry if tmi!)

belgo · 04/03/2008 16:27

beaniesteve · 04/03/2008 16:27

Are you on the pill?

sugarplumfairy · 04/03/2008 16:27

Mine have been like this since having a coil fitted, very bizarre.

mine have been like this since having a normal birth 4 years ago rather than a section. In fact, now i'm pretty much 'on' all the bloody time.

I get 2 heavy days then a light one. Then nothing for a day and then the most horrendous contraction like pains followed by a very heavy few hours then it stops! Very annoying.

VVVQVJournalist · 04/03/2008 18:44

LOL - yes! Every month. And stupidly, every month, I think "Woohoo! I can leave the mooncup out", and then not too long after, I find that I do still need it

newgirl · 04/03/2008 18:47

yes that happens to me

i had two kids by c section so not like needmorecoffee

allegrageller · 04/03/2008 18:47

always, but with variations

recently 2 heavy days, 1 lighter, a stop, then weird spurts until about day 5/6.

I can only be sure I've stopped, if I get to day 7 without any flooding (sorry tmi )

themoon66 · 04/03/2008 18:49

Same here. Pain like I'm starting for a day or two, then light couple of days, then stop for up to 4 days, then whoosh-heavy-don't-go-away-from-the-loo for one day.

I read somewhere that it is a symptom of fibroids.

Psychomum5 · 04/03/2008 18:49

mine have been like this since I started the farkin things......!

was most disgusted by my body when I had my first period. I started, bled for 3 days, and then stopped. WOOHOO thought I, only for complete humiliation in the form of period coming back full force, two days later, while doing hurdle......

and of course, this was 20+yrs ago when 'games' were taken in just a t-shirt and those 'oh so flattering' PE knickers (you remember the ones......huge, up to the tummy, and square on the bum making even the teensy hips and bum look mahoooooooosive!)

NEVER lived it down.......specially as it was so bloody (and I DO mean the pun, I can at least find humour in it now) obvious

and still now, I do the same. clearly childbirth doesn;t make the difference in cycles they claim.......the liars!
