Ds has a sore red left nipple, anything to worry about?

Ds said about a week or so ago his nipple hurt, when i looked it was slightly raised & red, like he had caught it in something but he said nothing had happened to it, it is the actually little nipple itself not the bit that surrounds it.

Today again he has brought it up & says it hurts, i have looked & it is still the same.

Is it anything to worry about & should i take him to see the doctor?

DD and DS both had this a while ago - turned out their new school polo shirts with a logo on the left side was really irritating. Once I'd washed them a few times the problem went away! Don't know if that's of any help but do you think it could be something he's wearing?

Aw thanks now that makes quite alot of sense, he has just started a new schoo so has new polo shirts, they or 1 of them could be the problem then...now how to fix it!

If it si rubbing, you coudl try putting vaseline on his nipple. Marathon runners do that.. OR else a sticky plaster. Might show through though and embarass him

and for the irritation, no T shirt at all once he gets home to let the air get at it. And maybe rub some olive oil or something on it before bed to remoisturise the skin

Thanks pot, i may use a plaster there wear yellow polo shirts so not see through.

Will put some vaseline on it tonight & see how we go.

Wow, I nearly didn't post cause I thought it would sound silly but now I'm glad I did.

How about a vest under the polo shirt? Or just wash them with fabric softener 2 or 3 times.

singyswife · 04/03/2008 21:27

What about a vest??

ScoobyDYSONDoo · 05/03/2008 09:27

Glad you did post as i would never have thought of that but it is the left side his school motive is on so i am pretty certain it is this.

I have just got rid of all his vests but am off to Asda today so will see if i can pick some up cheap there.

When washing do you mean wash on there own with fabric softner? they have been washed quite alot since he started but in a wash with all the washing & with powder & softner.
