He is adamant the sole purpose is so women can stand and have a wee like men.

I thought it was for convenience, in a car on long journey, no toilets etc.

what are your thoughts?

It would be hard to use sat down...

Tarantella6 · 15/09/2023 22:00

I don't really understand how you would use it not standing up. We have one for the kids, they think it's hilarious.

I haven't used it myself but trying to use it sitting down strikes me as a recipe for a big mess.

RomeoandJomeo · 15/09/2023 22:03

How would you use it if you weren't standing? I think it is meant to be for convenience, but very much based on the idea that peeing standing up is more convenient / discreet. (Personally I have no issue with squatting for a quick pee in such circumstances, and don't really see the point)

Changingplace · 15/09/2023 22:03

Yes they’re designed to use standing up, women use them as she wee urinals at festivals.

Changingplace · 15/09/2023 22:04

Are you thinking of travel janes, not she wees? They’re for emergencies/camping etc.

LucifersPain · 15/09/2023 22:06

He is correct.

Blueey · 15/09/2023 22:07

Your husband is right

Bringonthesunforthewashing · 15/09/2023 22:08

Oh ffs. I am wrong. Hate being wrong. So do I admit it or stand my ground..

obviously have to declare defeat. Actually breaking me 😂

Definitely designed so women can wee standing up without dropping their trousers. I think they are a great idea but have never been able to master the technique of how to use one reliably.

FuckingHellAdele · 15/09/2023 22:09

He's right, sorry dude.

The first time I used one (successfully) I thought 'that's it, I'm never sitting down to pee ever again'

I do still sit of course, but I reckon with a Shewee I could write my name in the snow <breathes on fingernails, polishes nails on tit>

landofgiants · 15/09/2023 22:09

I thought they were designed for winter mountaineering and similar situations, so that you don’t freeze when you need a wee! I would have thought sitting/standing/crouching would all be possible, but personally I didn’t get on well with mine.

msmonstera · 15/09/2023 22:11

I've only used it once but you still have to get right in there with it so you're still very exposed. Am I doing it wrong?!

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 15/09/2023 22:11

Definitely so you can stand and not drop your trousers.

The one for using in the car is more like a bottle

landofgiants · 15/09/2023 22:11

@Bringonthesunforthewashing I think you need to get one, and prove it’s possible!!!!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 15/09/2023 22:12

He’s wrong actually.
You can indeed use it sitting or squatting in any situation where you want the wee to go into a bottle rather than a toilet or the ground.
At risk of giving too much information to perves, I don’t think I have ever used mine standing up. Main use is camping if it’s raining or you’re at the sort of campsite that doesn’t have patches of long grass you can reasonably nip over to in at night.

Bringonthesunforthewashing · 15/09/2023 22:13

a bit of me has just died inside. I read out the posts and admitted defeat 😂.

fucking shewee can do one 😳

I think this is true... but it would be so easy to design women's clothing in such a way that it wasn't necessary to get half undressed for a piss... then these ridiculous work arounds wouldn't be necessary.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 15/09/2023 22:16

It is not that easy standing up imo because you still have to pull down the front of your knickers. That might be the market they are aimed at but I don’t know anyone who uses them that way.

katepilar · 15/09/2023 22:17

What is it exactly you are arguing about? You are both right. Its for women to wee standing up when its more convenient, the same way as men do.

SweetAndCrunchyLettuceMix · 15/09/2023 22:17

The other thing we all should consider is that trousers are designed with men's genital positioning in mind IE the zips are at the front rather than underneath, where they should be if you're wearing trousers and want a wee without either squatting or dropping. I've repositioned a lot of my zips for underneath - that plus a shewee means discreet going standing up, no bum out and you can stay warm in winter.

you don't have to admit anything. as a woman you reserve the right to be right 100% of the time. I would just tell him he is wrong and to go back to thinking about the Romans. demand an apology for added emphasis.

OhcantthInkofaname · 15/09/2023 22:34

I'm not quite sure how to use 1 without taking your panties off.

LifeIsPeachy8 · 15/09/2023 22:38

@FuckingHellAdele i love both your answer to this thread, and your username 😂 And your impressive shewee skills!

I've seen some hiking trousers like that and wondered why this isn't a common design feature.
