Awful acid, nausea and general gut discomfort

I’m really struggling to control my ongoing gut issues.

I suffer from regular (almost daily) nausea, belching and acid with a horrible gnawing sensation as though my stomach is eating itself. I often feel as though I have a brick in my stomach.

I also have IBS so struggle to treat the upper issues as the meds for those (ppi’s etc) often upset my lower gut 🙄

I have had endless tests over the last 4 years:- 2 colonoscopies, a gastroscope with biopsies to test for pathogens, h pylori and coeliac disease, a pill camera endoscopy, a bile acid malabsorption test, a ct scan and ultrasound scans!
I have recently tested positive for Small Intestinal Bacteria Overgrowth (SIBO) and not sure if this is causing all the issues as my gastro appointment isn’t until the end of September.

I watch what I eat, follow a low fodmap diet, avoid dairy, sweeteners, only drink water. Still nothing has helped.

I have no idea what is causing this other than, potentially the SIBO and the fact I’m 50 and in peri?

Anyone else suffer such gut issues? What do you do to relieve it all? I am desperate to feel well again.

My stomach issues started in earnest last summer after covid. I thought I was dying, my anxiety was through the roof and I had a lot of tests.
I completely changed my diet cutting out all food with a Ph of under 5 (look at Acid Watcher Diet) and things are a lot better now, not completely sorted but I know i’m
helping my body. It’s not an easy diet to follow, but if you are strict it should work (rule out obvious causes like hernia, h pylori, etc.). When you go out to eat it’s tough but you can eat fish/veg/potato/egg:chicken.
I’m also early 50s and I’m peri but scared hrt will make things worse. Progesterone can lead to stomach issues!!
