I got bitten by a tick on Tuesday. Went for a walk and DP decided it was a good idea to go through a forest with really long grass and I had trainer socks on!!

Thought I'd check that night cause I've had a tick bite before after camping and my DS had one too.

Yes, there was one on my ankle, and I removed it (badly, my tweezers are blunt!!). I took 200mg doxycycline even though I did remove it within 8 hours.

This morning there is a little bump and some redness round it, was itchy but not now. Doesn't look like the bullseye thing but I'll keep an eye on it.

What's concerning me is all day today I've had really strange random shooting pains up the front of my shin bone. It's not walking as I do a lot of walking this was a short walk and I've never felt this pain before. Thought maybe just in my head, but nope it's definitely there.

Has anyone had Lyme start like this??

I guess I'll just keep an eye on myself. Really don't want to take more antibiotics because I had a really bad UTI I've just got over and sometimes taking antibiotics upset my balance and make me prone to more UTI. But don't want Lyme disease!!
