Croaky voice worse as day goes on

I'm 38, and I have well controlled GERD.

My voice has been croaky for a few weeks now. I didn't have a cold or anything like that. It's not bad when I wake up but gets croakier as the day goes on. I don't talk a lot at work (I work from home). I do have a slightly sore throat too but not really difficulty swallowing.

I know I should visit the GP but I have health anxiety and she's probably sick of it now. I've been referred to a neurologist to query MS as I have some symptoms (facial numbness and tingling) and a very strong family history.

Is there anything not sinister it could be?

Should add, haven't smoked for 8 years but vape 3mg nicotine, and drink moderately.

its probably a GERD symptom - Google LPR.

ps: vaping and drinking will aggravate GERD massively

Try and stop vaping. The hot air will singe the lining of your throat and oesophagus as you breathe it in.

Sip water frequently to moisturize the tissues and try a teaspoonful of honey after every meal

Isn't hoarseness by GERD meant to be worse in the morning?

It can be, but if you have Gerd already then it’s a likely scenario, esp if you vape.

I have GERD and despite taking Lansoprazole every day, end up with a croaky voice as the day goes on, especially after talking.

Surprisingly, after various ENT visits, I was referred to a speach therapist. They were very good. They stressed importance of taking Gaviscon Advance or similar after every meal, breathe through my nose, not my mouth and using steam inhalation.

Also, as someone mentioned earlier, they advised to regularly sip water.

I was given pages and pages of information including neck exercises etc.

I don't always follow everything as I should, but I'm not as croaky as I was.

Not saying you have..but I had a lot of acid reflux for years and then my voice kept getting very croaky and hoarse
As time went on it got worse eventually I had a gastroscopy and I had severe candida in the esophagus..took the tablets prescribed and a further gastroscopy showed the candida was gone and so was the acid reflux and croaky voice.
