I've got a dull ache in my lower abdomen. In the bikini area. I'm not due on for another 2 weeks or so, No chance of being pregnant and it's only started yesterday.
It feels like period pains only not. The pain sometimes migrates up my back. It's only noticable when I'm not doing anything.
I'm not in agony, it's just making me feel a bit miserable.
Can't be bothered to ring NHS direct for something that seems so trivial, could take days to ge a Doctor's appointment and the NHS Direct website is as much use as an inflatable dartboard.
Could it be my coil? Maybe it's moved a little bit? Painkillers and hot water bottle aren't doing much good as it's not really that bad.
Maybe IBS?
I don't know.

Could be a urine infection...?

Tiggiwinkle · 03/03/2008 16:39

UTI? Does it hurt to pass water?

fletchaaarr · 03/03/2008 16:39

Urine infection?

Pain migrating to back could be kidney?

TheProdigalShow · 03/03/2008 16:39

Ovulation pain?

I get ovulation pain worse than period pains mid-cycle. Feels like a cross between constipation and needing a wee!

PersonalClown · 03/03/2008 16:41

No pain when peeing so not likely to be a UTI.
Ovulation pain sound likely but I've never had them before hence the slight worrying!

Ovulation pains, though in my experience they tend to be only on one side.

PersonalClown · 03/03/2008 16:43

It does seem to be slightly more concentrated on the left side.

Irritable bowel or constipation? I get period type pains from time to time, generally left sided and they are caused by IBS.

Keep a food diary for a few weeks and see whether they occur or are worse after eating particular foods.

orangina · 03/03/2008 17:07

As I get older, ovulation pains get worse and period pains get better.... ovulation pains now worse than period pains.... could it be that I wonder? (Yes, worse on one side...)

OrmIrian · 03/03/2008 17:08

Ovulation pain sounds a possibility. I never had it until my DD (second baby ) was born. It can be excrutiating at times - have to sit down very very carefully.

PersonalClown · 03/03/2008 17:52

That's really what it is Orm.
I have to be careful getting up or sitting down. And when Ds jumps on me chanting 'Night Garden'!

I didn't have ovulation pains until after I had my first dd. Was very concerned the first time it happened but someone put my mind at rest. Usually 2 weeks before AF due- definitely sounds like it.

You might find it will have eased by tomorrow but be left with a faintly bruised feeling. Having said that, the first time I got it it went on for a few days. Now it lasts about 6 hours or so.

Littlefish · 04/03/2008 07:02

Where does it hurt when you sit down?

PersonalClown · 04/03/2008 16:58

Thank you all, you lovely ladies!
I'm feeling so much better today. An ocassional twinge but not much. Even been out shopping for Ds' birthday presents.
