Accidentally eaten from unsealed jar

Just ate a few pickles from a jar and husband told me that it's seal was broken and he wanted to return it but forgot to tell me. It looked and smelled fine - will I get sick?! I know it probably sounds daft but I have bad health anxiety 🥲

If it is pickled it's extremely unlikely to go off.

Health anxiety is the pits, so worrying. But of everything in a jar, pickles are amongst the least likely to actually go off.

Just watch and wait. You'll probably be ok. Pickled food is preserved after all, even if the seal was broken.

Unless it was one of those nutters that poisons food in the supermarkets lol!😀

Totally fine if it smells fine. I wouldn't eat the rest but this will not be a problem.

You should be okay! Pickling is a fantastic preservative so it's unlikely to have gone off or been open long enough to lose its freshness.

It's barely any different to having opened it yourself a while ago and deciding you fancy one today - you'll be absolutely alright 😃

I'm sure you'll be ok.
