I know there are a few threads on here already about anal skin tags, but thought I'd start a new one. I believe I have this condition and am looking for more examples of positive experiences - especially from those who had tags with "wide bases" - my own is a sort of puffy area that is wider than it is "tall" - which I believe makes it more complex to remove. Still hopeful for local anesthetic if/when I do it, rather than GA. My main questions are: how on earth do the wounds NOT get infected in such a germ filled area; and if anyone has recommendations of clinics in Canada/Ontario/Toronto. I'd much prefer laser excision, but only one clinic in Canada offers it, a four hour plane ride from me. Anyone who has been through this who wishes to share their experience is welcome. I'm wanting mine removed for all the usual reasons - hygiene, irritation, and cosmetic. On the latter point, I haven't even dated since this developed. Feeling a little defeated by the whole ordeal already, and I've not even done the surgery yet. Thank you <3
