I'm sure there's a weight loss thread somewhere but I can't think where it is!

Any ideas on how??

I'd never normally try and lose more than a pound a week but I'm desperate....I've put 5 or 6 lbs on due to medical stuff (LONG story) and now have booked a holiday to cheer us up after all this BUT am going in less than 2 weeks and literally am a lardy arse!

How can I do this?

  • I hate dieting - I don't mind eating more sensibly though
-happy to exercise but a bit unfit and short on time with ds and a ton of work but could do speed walking/ jogging for 40 mins when he is at nursery and when dh gets home from work.

Any other ideas/ miracles???

I guess there aren't any quick fixes - just need to cut intake and increase calorie output.

Maybe drink loads of water?

Yes to the water.

No alcohol.

No carbs in the evening.

NO crap.

No snacks.

Sensible breakfast - cereal with skimmed milk and fruit. Fruit for snacks. Vegetable soup - Weight Watchers have a recipe for a 'free' soup which is basically vegetables, tinned tomatoes and veg stock plus some seasoning - you can have unlimited quantities of that.

Green tea is supposed to boost your metabolism.

i think cutting out things such as pasta and white bread as they are heavy on the stomach so eat just grilled chicken and veg and salads

water will still bloat you out but drink in moderation it'll detox you and do you good

not sure otherwise just any food that can bloat you potato eat sweet potato instead and just fruit for snacks strawberrys and grapes are good as the sugar makes you less likely to snack

good luck be careful though

Easy goal to achieve .

Eat muesli and skimmed milk for breakfast, one portion of lean meat/fish, one of carbohydrate and one or two of vegetable for lunch, with fruit for pudding, and one portion of lean meat/fish for supper with vegetables and fruit for pudding.

Lots of water, herbal tea.
