Cracked tooth hurting after over 2 years

I have a cracked tooth at near the back of my upper teeth and it has never caused me any pain and years ago I had root canal on that area so I figured that is why. Now after well over two years I am getting a lot of pain in that tooth and that whole side of my face and head is painful. Has anyone ever had a cracked tooth that caused pain after this long.

Sounds like an abbess, infection has got in around the crack

Yeah I was wondering about I mean it’s not even just a little bit cracked I mean half the tooth is missing now so wonder if finally an abcess developed.

I have a dentist appointment next week so reckon the rest of the tooth will have to go.
