I've worn orthotics for many years and they have helped me. They have now worn almost through and I now have a massive bag of all sorts of orthotics from different podiatrists. None seem to agree with each other. None are right as they are causing me pain after walking. I've paid out a fortune. It seems like an area where there seems to be little standard approach and the people who make the orthotics are removed from you so if they don't work you can't send them back or whatever. I had some custom ones made but despite being incredibly expensive, they aren't working either and they are made by a factory that I can't deal with directly either. Noone seems to be able to reproduce the same shape as the old ones that worked for me for many years. Each new person I see wants to start from scratch, sounds massively confident, says they are different to the last one I saw, and doesn't seem to be able to properly amend things.
Can anyone tell me how to approach this or could give any advice on who to believe or where to turn next? Is there a society or standard practise and are there different sorts of custom orthotics? I hoped this was the answer but they don't look as custom as I'd hoped.
