very prominent blue veins on legs?

Hi

Over the last few days the veins on parts of my legs have really come up. They are big and blue. They don't hurt but look awful!
For a good year or so now the veins on the back of my legs, particurly behind my knees are always showing up really prominantly (sorry sp?) and some are quite lumpy. I never wear a skirt anymore because of them.

Does anyone know of anything I can do to make them go away? I try not to cross my legs too much, but thats my most comfy position! I work 3 days in an office, but the rest of the time I'm running around after a toddler so am quite active

Thanks for any ideas!

varicose veins, no?

You can wear support tights (hot legs) but there's nothing really you can do. Apart from getting them operated on.
