Will a torn perineum be taken seriously by a doctor?

Name changed as mortified. We’re away atm and after a loooong dry spell with DH due to various stressors we’ve finally been dtd. All great, except a few days ago the bed looked like a crime scene afterwards with the amount of bright red blood all over it. I wasn’t in any pain but from the feel of it I’ve torn my perineum. I’ve had 3 dc, the last one was very big, and I was left unstitched as they said it was just a graze but I was definitely torn. I can feel that that tear is now bigger, and seems to be torn right to my anus (sorry). I went to the doctor a few weeks ago to discuss possibly being in peri menopause and the first thing that I got on google when I searched for a perineal tear was it being more likely in menopause, I assume as the skin thins with age/change of hormones. Will a doctor just expect me to cope with this or is it likely to be repaired, or heal on its own? I feel very odd down there now, not in pain but definitely tender. I imagine the blood loss looked worse than it actually was and I feel well in myself, but psychologically it’s done a bit of a number on me.
