Allodynia, anyone know anything about it?

Over the last few days I have a patch of skin on the back of my arm, about the size of my palm, that I cannot touch. I cannot lie on my back in bed, I can't wear long sleeves etc without the movement of the fabric causing pain. I haven't injured myself, there's no broken skin or bruise, so wad wondering if anyone knew what this could be?

I occasionally get it on my scalp after a very severe migraine. It can last a couple of days. I mentioned it to my neurologist once and he said it wasn't unusual with migraine. That's probably not much help to you though, sorry! It's not the start of shingles, is it?

Sounds a bit like shingles
