6 year old has a really painful lump on gum. It doesn't look like any ulcer I've had myself.
Anyone had anything similar?
Will likely head to the dentist tomorrow.

Yes to seeing your own dentist asap, can’t be sure without examining in person but looks like an abscess, especially if it’s fluctuant (squishy) it’s probably arising from the first deciduous molar in that quadrant. Calpol or equivalent as needed until you get her in.

Thanks @Brody77
That's really helpful. It's squishy, which sounds like that isn't a good sign 😔
Dosed up on nurofen.

I’m a paediatric dentist. There’s most likely decay in the upper first or second primary molar, resulting in an abscess. It’s not an ulcer - it’s definitely an abscess. Only option is extraction x

Thank you @18daychallenge. That's really helpful.
Hopefully we'll be able to get seen first thing tomorrow.
I would definitely have been a bit more dismissive if I hadn't had the advice from you both. Thank you x
Massive mum guilt. 😔

Please dont l feel guilty at all. All just mums trying to do our best - and the main thing is you are seeking help and advice ❤️ The main thing moving forward is follow the advice your dentist gives you on how to prevent future decay (if they don’t give it - ask - and then consider moving dentists!) x

Thank you x

We've seen the dentist. Apparently the abscess has burst since last night. He's prescribed antibiotics and said to go back in a couple of weeks.
