I know all about teething = diarrhea but can teething also = constipation?

DS was the former. DD is 5 months and was on some solids (no comments please) and just the past couple of days has become very constipated. I was putting it down to starting solids however I've just this pm noticed that she is cutting her first tooth. She also has a high temp. Anyone had this?

there is NO evidence teething gives you anything except teeth . babies have teeth coming in for months and months and coincidentally are going through lots of body changes at the same time.

It is coincidence!

I found that once I started to wean my dd also at around 5 months she became badly constipated, I put it down to rice because as soon as I stopped giving rice and gave oats instead the problem seemed to clear up. She was also on a prescibed laxative for a while.

Yes Bikermom, I fear I may have overdone the bananas. She's much better in that respect now, going normally only still not eating. She seems full of cold Which I originally put down the teething (jasper - sorry!) but I think she is really unwell. Not a happy bunny at all.
