Eye test question - do I need varifocals with this prescription?

I have been using off the shelf reading glasses for couple of years now but eyes been feeling tired so thought best get an actual proper eye test done - having just turned 50. Was recommended varifocals but just wondered if prescription warrants this as numbers seem quite low. Any advice please.
Prescription is . . .

SPH R +1.00 L +1.25
CYL R -0.50 L-0.50
AXIS R 80.0 L85.0
NEAR R +1.50 L+1.50

Should i just continue with off the shelf 1.50+ reading glasses or are varifocals needed?

Hi.

Your reading prescription is actually the +1.50 reading add Plus the sphere so more around +2.50. The top numbers spherical and cyl is your prescription for distance.
Your options would to be to try a stronger pair of ready readers ie +2.50 but it isn't your exact prescription as does not incorporate the cyl part which means you have a small amount of astigmatism. Your optician will be able to make up reading glasses to your exact prescription but will obviously cost more than ready readers.

Varifocals are your distance prescription in the top and the power gradually increases toward the bottom of the lens to your reading prescription. I would say they would help with the tiredness you're feeling and would help sharpen your distance vision also.
