Does anybody know what the risks of lifting are during early pregnancy

Hi

I am ttc my 2nd dc but also work in a nursing home where the work is quite heavy.

What would the risks be if I was pregnant but was not aware of it yet.

I am really worried about it while ttc or am I worrying about nothing.

I have back problems and was told in my pregnancies only to lift what I HAD to and avoid any unnecessary lifting. I know this isn't much help as it's part of your job but maybe you could be given lighter duties at work?

IIRC heavy lifting is an issue only from about 16 weeks on ( happy to be corrected) - until that point, as long as you are lifting correctly, there is no danger.

As far as I know, the risks are to you in terms of damage to back etc because of softened ligaments, rather than to the baby.
