Has Anyone Here Ever Been to a Supernatural Healer?

DeedeeDashwood · 29/07/2023 11:12

I'm aware that there's a very small number of exceptionally gifted people in this world who have the ability to function as channels for healing energy - either deploying the power themselves (person to person or via remote healing) or letting so-called 'spirit doctors' work through them. The late Betty Shine was for several decades the best-known such person in Britain, but Doris Collins was likewise capable and in North Yorkshire there's still Ray Brown, whom I've consulted myself on several occasions with positive results, though nowadays he's ageing and suffering from cancer. (You'll find no negative feedback about him anywhere, in spite of his many years as a healer. If his website makes you doubt his credibility, read his biography and then see what you think.)

What I'm wondering is whether there are any other such healers out there - people whose healing is a sort of powerful mediumship, not reiki healers/chakra realigners etc. They tend to keep a low profile and generally it's only by word of mouth that clients get to hear about them, so it's extremely hard to discover their existence, their locations and their contact details. Does anyone here know of such a person in their neck of the woods? Has any of you actually consulted a 'healing medium' of this sort - and with what results?

NB: I'm not talking about spiritual healing sessions at Spiritualist churches. I'm talking about that tiny handful of people endowed with the rare gift of being able to deliver powerful healing in a way which completely baffles medical reasoning.

Thanks for reading this. I'd really appreciate it if people would control themselves from responding with posts like 'You must be a complete idiot if you believe that such things exist' or 'Anyone who calls themselves a healer is quite obviously a fraud' or 'It's obviously your brain that needs healing' etc. The need for healing is a serious topic, so if you're a troll and you feel a trolling outburst coming on, please unleash it on another website. Ta.

No - because they dont exist

nonman · 29/07/2023 11:21

Yes me, 2k for a laying on of hands, I’ve actually made people regrow legs, oh I remember now that was a lizard.

MrsFarmerTom · 29/07/2023 11:23

I mean, Ray Brown's cancer is somewhat undermining his credibility as a healer...

What are you asking for then? Yes I saw a 'supernatural healer' and it was amazing? Because they are frauds they are fake

VeridicalVagabond · 29/07/2023 11:27

Interesting how Ray Brown is this miraculous healer but can't manage to sort it out his own cancer. Doesn't say much for his credibility.

My great gran believed in this nonsense and saw a healer instead of a doctor for her very treatable early stage cancer. It killed her a few years later, so no amount of "please don't troll" is going to stop me saying these people are disgusting charlatans who take advantage of the vulnerable.

As someone who has suffered decades from a condition which has basically ruined my life I would absolutely love to find a healer (or anyone come to think of it) who could ease my issues but sadly, I really don’t think it exists.
I do however believe strongly in the power of the mind and that’s an area which science is only really discovering. I truly feel that if a person 100% believes someone else has special healing powers they can ease their own issues with that belief and it’s simply that.

Yes I have but same as people made fun in your replies they will make my fun too .

i too was not a believer and was among those who made fun but after meeting a guy in Ireland everything changed .

Elphame · 09/03/2024 13:40

Yes to the OP's question but they stay very much under the radar

In this article, doesn't claim he can heal cancer. https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/healer-i-do-cure-people-1890990

I have heard of a guy called
J. he's in east midlands a very good spiritual healer, many great results, can also treat animals and children.. he was recommended to me by my G.P for my arthritis. he's involved in churches but will visit you at home if required. I hope this helps.

suburberphobe · 28/07/2024 01:51

I'd like to know too OP and ignore the doubters.

@DeedeeDashwood Be very mindful of how much money you give to anyone you find. It is very, very easy to get in over your head with such people.

I don't believe and can't explain this experience I had about 10 years ago.

I was in a lot of back pain. I worked in the newsroom of a small local newspaper and the editor, a typical hard-boiled, no-nonsense newspaper man, mentioned his wife had 'healing hands". I smiled and the conversation went no further.

The next day his wife came in to see him and she came over to me where I was sitting, in obvious pain. She asked if she could "lay" her hands on my back. I agreed - what was there to lose.

She placed her hands lightly on my back for a second or two and I felt a jolt, like an electric current going through me, and at the same time there was a noise like something sparking. The relief was immediate. The editor and another colleague had looked round at the noise with "what was that?" expressions. I went home and slept soundly from 7pm until 11.00 am the next day.

I don't believe in mediums, or fortune tellers or faith healers, so I can't explain what she did that day.

Yes we grew up on them. The cures we’ve had have ranged from sprains and strains to burns to anxiety to granny’s arthritis. We’ve also had to do the cure of bleeding 4 times chickenpox and something else I just can’t remember. One was actually able to diagnose and save my in-laws neighbours life. Our local pub has a book of cures

BananaLamah · 28/07/2024 23:40

It’s taking advantage of desperate people who will pay anything for a cure. I have some health problems and I’d pay literally everything I own if someone could make it go away.

Strange, you posted the same over a year ago.
And back you are again.

Bluelagoon67 · 27/04/2026 01:34

I went to see him several years ago for my acid reflux and a hiatal hernia. I came out in pain he said I would do for a few days and I did and then it got worse. In the end I had to have an operation to right my hernia and sort out my lower sphincter muscle as it wasn’t shutting properly. At no point am I saying he caused it to get worse or have to have the operation. Because of him but I do wish I hadn’t gone.

ForeverDelayedEpiphany · 27/04/2026 12:44

Can I ask a serious question please, OP? I've been permanently harmed by an off label antipsychotic prescribed for severe insomnia and anxiety after a head injury and post concussion syndrome a decade ago, and have a movement disorder called tardive dyskinesia as a result 💔

Without sounding cynical, could a spiritual healer make brain damagd better? I mean, genuinely just by doing whatever that they do, be it using energy changes/channeling positive energy etc (or however they work!) I think it's probably quite unlikely, but given that we are absolutely energy ie our cells and the elements involved, perhaps the spiritual healer might have an effect on this?

I'm out of options with regards to my movement disorder, as it is permanent neurological injury, but if there was a genuine chance this could be helped by someone who can heal it, I'd jump at the chance.

Given that I don't really trust in medical professionals much these days, unless life threatening, I am open minded to considering using different forms of help, as long as it is safer.
