any ideas? My ferritin levels were 10 4 months ago (3 iron tablets a day for those 4 months!) and have only gone up to 17 as from Tuesday. ‘Satisfactory’ - only saw them now so hopefully doc will call tomorrow but interested to see what others think? Or anything I should be asking?

still so so exhausted & filled with anxiety.

You aren’t above 30 yet - see how you feel then

It can take a good 6 months so keep going and hang in there. Assume you already know the usual take your iron with vit C to increase absorption and don't take your iron within 2 hours of having caffeine.

OP there are 1-a-day gradual release iron tablets - brand name Ferrograd. Having repeatedly taken iron tablets over the years these have been a game changer, so much easier to be ultra-disciplined (first thing in morning, with OJ, no food for an hour, no dairy/caffeine for 2hours). Ferritin from 5 to 28 in 1 month. You can buy online if your GP is reluctant to change the type as I think they may be more expensive

Get Ferrograd C instead as then you don't need to bother with the orange juice. You can buy them over the counter or online. Here's an example:
