its totally put me off having anything done! The pictures of after were shocking, it was very honest detailing things like infection, failure rates etc.

Most shocking of all were two young girls there who couldnt have been much more than 17 wanting breast implants. These were two thin, beautiful girls with good sized breasts. It made me want to weep.

I'm just sticking to non-surgical stuff. No way would I go through all that to havew to have it done again years later quite an eye opener anyway

were you thinking of having something done then?
I wouldn't rule out PS in the furture, like a boob job after BF 4 dc's!!

lou33 · 26/02/2008 15:59

i would like some boobs

mosschops30 · 26/02/2008 16:01

yes I was considering a breast uplift or possibly implants.

But no way now, if you have an uplift if jusr ends up drooping eventually and implants still have to be changed every 10-12 years.
It was very scary, and I just couldnt be bothered to go through all that pain and possibly not even end up getting the look i want and the expense etc etc.

Boob jobs are so popular nowadays and only a minority suffer problems. I can understand someone wanting one if flat chested though.

I admit to having a nose job 5 years ago.

McDreamy · 26/02/2008 16:10

There are lots of parties like that over here (Cyprus) as PS is much cheaper than the UK..........but the problems.....

mosschops30 · 26/02/2008 16:11

i would love a nose job but dh wont even entertain it.
Did you have it done for cosmetic reasons?
I'm too much of a baby for it I think, the pain afterwards is supposed to be horrendous.

I agree people have implants for all sorts of reasons, ditto reductions. But mine was purely vanity and I cant justify it really

It wasnt a party, it was an open evening at Spire Healthcare (old Bupa)

Oh yes sorry an open evening. There are parties here, just like Virgin Vie or Tupperware parties!

Remotew · 26/02/2008 16:17

mosschops yes, it was for cosmetic reasons. I'd hated my nose for years. I didnt find the money or the courage until I was turned 40. There isnt any pain involved tbh. I wish I had had it done when I was much younger.

I didnt change it drastically as I was worried people would really notice but when I saw the results I wished I'd gone much futher as I look so much better.

Abouteve, How do you go about choosing a good reputable doctor?

Remotew · 27/02/2008 16:33

He was recommended to me by my GP. He worked for the NHS and did some private work at a Nuffield.
