Nosebleeds. Lots of them.

I've been having a ridiculous number of nosebleeds for 4wks now. Mostly very heavy and sudden, resulting in lots of tops requiring scrubbing....

Initially I assumed it was overly dry nose linked to my hayfever, as I've had short bouts of this in the past from the same side of my nose. Ended up with a video call to a GP and a prescription for an antibiotic nasal cream. No huge difference really, and add in I started to struggle to hear out the ear on the same side as the bleeds, so back to the GP.

Sas a paramedic in person, checked nose etc. Prescribed a week of oral doxcycline which has made me feel unbelievably sick.

I've now finished the course but my hearing is not greatly improved (akin to when you have water stuck in an ear and everything is muffled, but nothing in there!) and I'm still having near-daily bleeds. Today's bleed was in the shower, apparently caused by me looking down while I shaved my legs FFS. And took AGES to stop. I promise I'm not picking at it! And blood pressure is low despite being v fat.

I guess it's back to the GP, but any ideas? Anyone had their nose cauterised? Does it hurt?

Do you have any other symptoms - such as bleeding gums, heavier periods or easy bruising?

Or generally - fatigue, breathlessness, joint/bone pain, night sweats, lots of infections or infections that are hard to shift?

Might be worth asking GP to order a full blood count

Hmm, food for thought thankyou. I have a lot more headaches at the moment than is usual for me, waking up with them each morning but I have chronic migraine (treated with an anti-CGRP injection each month) so frequent headaches are pretty much my life, so it's hard to say on that front.

Other bleeding - I can't think of much, I've not really bruised for anything unusual. Periods currently down to next to nothing as I have the coil again due to decades of heavy bleeding (and the hormonal element of my migraine).

Fatigue and breathlessness yes, but I'm very overweight so have put it down to that really although I've noticed I'm wheezing doing embarrassingly easy things like walking along slight slopes when out with the dog. I'd assume I'm just even more unfit than I want to be.

I missed the opening to submit an e-consult today by 10mins so I'll be up first thing to get one in and ask to be seen or at least phoned again.

So I finally had my nose cauterised on Monday. Fuck I'm uncomfortable! 😂

All sympathy gratefully received....
