I've been taking ultra magnesium from Superdrug for around 10 days. I've read about the supposed benefits, the first 3 nights it helped me sleeped very well but after that it did naff all as I still woke up during the night.
Is anybody else taking it and have you noticed any changes or improvements?

What is in it ?

DustyLee123 · 22/07/2023 11:48

I take magnesium L-Threonate for brain fog. It helped me sleep initially, but then I found it irritated me at night, so I now take it in the morning

It's called ultra magnesium but I'm not exactly sure which type, I'll check the label when I'm home .
That's a good point, maybe it's because I took it just before bed.

No vitamin is going to turbo charge your energy after such as short period. I think you need to reset your expectations - popping pills especially vitamins seems to be the modern panacea to all problems, but you need to be realistic and also recognise whatever gumph and promises you get on websites, you are unique and won't necessarily react to taking magnesium in the same way as the next person.

I take various supplements to target aspects like eye health, teeth, energy but I see it as a long term health campaign along with general health exercise and diet, rather than a near term fix.

I take magnesium citrate. I think it helps me sleep, not entirely sure, but it definitely helps me poo 😬

I use Magnesium for energy levels rather than sleep. I find Vitabiotics natural sleep remedy with valerian called Sleep ite is better for regulating sleep pattern and doesn't leave me groggy first thing.

Magnesium Citrate is my saviour when my restless legs start up! It’s pretty instant - within an hour of drinking it I can fall asleep as my legs behave.

sleepnite

I swear by magnesium to help keep away restless legs, bad sleep and the sudden snappy rage that us 40-somethings get. As pp has said there are a few different types and strengths on offer but I would recommend sticking with it. But I definitely notice if I have forgotten to take it for a few days.

I take it (I don't know what type) because I was on a low carb diet and it was recommended for 'carb flu', and then I noticed when I stopped taking it that my mood disimproved. I went on and off it for a while and the results seemed consistent, then I googled and there were reports of it improving mood, so I stayed on it for that reason.

TheOwlChronicles · 22/07/2023 12:02

I take magnesium glycinate

EsmeraldaMeitsme · 22/07/2023 12:02

Magnesium glycinate is the one for sleep.
