I got my IUD inserted in November of 2022, yesterday I had sex with my longterm boyfriend without protection (except the IUD) but as soon as we finished I checked the strings and noticed that they are super short. normally they are slightly out of my cervix and easy to feel, but now I really have to dig into my cervix to feel it with the tip of my finger. what can this mean? should I be worried? has de IUD moved?

No help here, sorry. I've had mine for 10 years (two separate coils) and have never felt the strings

If anything it sounds like it is pulled up high in there. No problem at all, I think.

When the strings can’t be felt for a while I’ve been told the reason to get it checked is to make sure it hasn’t fallen out.

I’ve no idea what mine would feel like. 😬

Your cervix moves up and down. But if you are concerned phone your gp

I've ha one in for 2 months now; never felt the need to feel for the strings. My doctor said it if comes out of place then you'll bleed and have tummy cramps. Unless you feel either of those then I wouldn't worry, but if you are then I'd ring GP
