Panic attacks and pain along the bra line

The DD has stressed me big time today and has not done as she was told at all. I have pains but I am not sure if it is physical signs of my mental stress or something as daft as my bra isn't right anymore.

Not sure I have shingles. What are the symptoms? Have had this pain before btw.

Anyone else?

I just have stomach ache and left boob ache now. I often have left boob ache actually.

So the two things could be unrelated - the boob ache being the usual boob ache and the stomach pains being something new (joy!).

Why did your friend suggest it could be a panic attack - what does it feel like?

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 25/02/2008 20:58

It was someone on here who suggested it. I was very stressed over Ds1 (who is currently really good.) and I had real chest tightness which they said sounded like a panic attack. My left side was where I had a lump 4+ years ago too.

well panic attacks can take on many forms (i speak from years of experience ). It is quite common to get a feeling like a 'bear hug' across you stomach and/or chest when having an attack. Sometimes you get other symptoms too, other times you don't. Other stomach pains I have had which have been related to panic attacks have felt like being stabbed with a knife or kicked in the stomach. Of course, all these things can be other things too and you have to sort of rule everything else out if you haven't got other classic panic symptoms too - hence why some people with anxiety end up looking like hypochondriacs, they have loads of symptoms but docs find nothing wrong. Can you think of something you could do now to help you relax? If you keep getting the pains but no other symptoms and you are stressed it probably is stress / anxiety causing it IMO.

With the breast pain I would say the best thing to do is get it checked out if you are worried rather than leave it and worry more.

good idea. Good luck.

Nab - I used to get panic attacks (still get the odd beginning of one) and it always starts by feeling like my bra is really, really, really tight - like a band round my chest. When I had full blown attacks I would then start to feel dizzy, short of breath, faint and start hyperventilating.

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 26/02/2008 11:48

Well, I forgot to say anything about it but I did mention I wasn't feeling great and had a tightness but she didn't say anything. I felt that awful this morning that I took the pregnnacy test out of the cupboard and had a look at it.

She said one funny cycle isn't really cause for concern but she did the smear and I get results in two weeks.

podford What do you do when you are having one? I have asthma too so wonder if that complicates things.

Sometimes when I have panic attacks, I do have to take my bra off to get comfortable. I have little vest tops I can wear if I can't get comfortable in a bra. I think it's to do with stress / stiffness / muscle spasm?

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 26/02/2008 12:12

I took my bra off but being an F cup I can't do that all the time. The bra I was wearing is oldish so maybe time to get rid. I have had pleuretic pain so it could be linked I guess.
