ds has always since he was a baby been either constipated or had diarrohea(sp) it seemed to balance out when he was weaned and its never really been severe enough for me to worry iykwim. anyways, he didnt poo yesterday, or the day before. this morning he did a massive pooh that looked like several poos stuck together iykwim (tmi sorry) and there was blood and mucus in it.

any ideas?

My dd's like this. There's a difference between blood in it in which case it would be very dark coloured, black almost, and blood on it which I reckon is caused by little tear/fissure created by pushing such a gigantic nobbly poo out

That must have been really scary. My ds's both used to get constipated. We used lactulose which sorted it out. Hope he feels better soon.

blood was definately on it. was a very knobbly, enormous poo.

shall get some lactoluse for him tho
