well.....not bad as such, but I did that for 3mths, and fell pregnant with DD3!!!!

dependent on day and mood (mone as well as her), it could be classed as a wonderful experience, or truly shitty....

soooooo.......take care!

Only when I (completely unrelated to taking pill) developed kidney stones while on holiday in France. The hospital staff, clearly wondering about the possibility of a miscarriage, asked when my last period was and I had to attempt to explain doing back-to-back on combined pill in French, while in pain and not really having the appropriate vocabulary (unaccountably that whole area was missed out of O-level French classes).

But provided that you fortify yourself with the appropriate linguistic resources, you should be fine .

there was 'slightly' mitigating circumstances tho.....

I started on the back-to-back in january, while on anti-b's for tonsilitus.

I needed to do the back-to-back for the peiods arriving at inoportune times, and altho I knew that the anti-b's would effect the pill, I thought it would effect just the january pack. used condoms for january, but from feb onwards thought I would be covered......

when I stopped the pill to have my april period, I was pregnant......and she came in december, so I fell for her either at the very end of feb, or march!!!!

docs said that the anti-b's effected the whole 3 packs of the pills I took cos I didn;t take the break.....

taught me a lesson, altho it WAS a wonderful lesson (most of the time).

sooo......if you need anti-b's. take care for the entire time until you get the next period!

bracingair · 24/02/2008 22:37

i always try and avoid anti-biotics because of the pill!

But i am astonished it affected the whole 3 months - because if you forgot to take a pill, you only have to have extra protection for 7 days after.

I thought all the days you take anti-biotics was akin to missed days pill?

see.....that is what I thought too......docs said othewise, and DD3 obviously PROOVED otherwise!

I took all the other pills properly tho, as if I ever even just missed one, I got my period!!!

having thought about it all tho in the years since, the fact that my body was that sensitive to just the one missing pill, maybe proved that my body metebolised the pill quicker anyhow, and the anti-b's was a kind of extension to my wierdness.

it also was 10yr's ago now tho, as DD3 was 9 in decmber just gone. maybe the pills have got better????

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 24/02/2008 22:50

i thought you were talking about the position 'back to back'

doh

bracingair · 24/02/2008 22:51

wow! you got your period back quick.

On the other hand, pills are 99% effective, meaning that if 100 women took it properly, one would get pregnant.

Perhaps you were the lucky one!

p.s. just checked your pictures, your dc's are so sweet.

and thankyou....I think they are great.

and yes, wow for the quick period, altho too as it was a PITA at times!!!
and yes also to the 99% and maybe being the 1% who fell.

not heard as yet of this happening to others, so maybe it was just me and my weirdness

Tri-cycling pills is considered to be safe. And only 4 periods a year....yippee!
