Can emotional stress cause you to bless?

I'm on Cerelle and haven't had a period for 4 years. My mum just died and today I've been bleeding. Can an emotional shock cause this?

So sorry about your Mum. I think potentially yes. I was very unwell a few years ago during lockdown and it was a very stressful time and I started having random bleeding that settled down when my health improved and stress levels went down.

Might be worth a GP call though if it's more than spotting.

Yes, I had a period that lasted for 5 weeks after my sister died. I'd get to the GP anyway to check, though.
