Gallstones and gastric band

Hi I basically wanted some success stories as I'm very nervous. For the past 3 months I've had agonising gallstone pain confirmed by ultrasound as lots of gallstones so need my gallbladder removed. At the same time I'm having my gastric band removed which has been in me for 15 years. Has anybody had either surgeries? Maby both at the same time? Please help I'm scared. I'm 36 and overweight.

HI there. I've not had experience of the gastric band but I've had my gall bladder out. I don't think that's something you need to worry about. Mine was more than 20 years ago, and done through keyhole surgery. I didn't have a lot of pain afterwards and recovered quickly. I know of people suffering from gall bladder problems who just can't get an operation scheduled, so if I were you I'd definitely press on with it if they're talking about doing it. You'll almost certainly feel tons better.

Hopefully somebody has some experience of the other surgery to share with you
