What is this lump on my foot?

I have this lump on my foot, not painful but gets in the way with shoes.

It has grown considerably since I noticed it about a two month ago.

I will be trying to get a doctors appointment, but in the meantime wondered if anyone else has any idea what it might be.

What is this lump on my foot?

Following because I have the same thing! No idea what it is but very painful.

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 03/07/2023 15:05

Is it hard or soft, mobile or fixed?

Dinnerisburnt · 03/07/2023 15:09

It’s rock hard, my sister thinks it’s a bone spur 🤷🏻‍♀️

And it’s fixed, doesn’t move, just getting bigger each day!

Ganglion?

Tdcp · 03/07/2023 15:13

It looks like it could be a ganglion cyst? I had one in my wrist and it did cause quite a bit of pain. It was there years.

WolfFoxHare · 03/07/2023 15:16

I was going to say ganglion. I had one on my wrist for years but I don't remember it being painful. My gran told me to hit it hard with a big heavy book... not sure I'd recommend that course of treatment.

jeffersonsam · 04/07/2023 12:28

Sometimes, it will happen due to body heat, but please seek medical expert advice, it may be reducing your panic mind set and also better to start a right treatment.

Beamur · 04/07/2023 12:31

Definitely see a GP but my money would be on it being a ganglion too.
They often appear on feet and wrists. I have a tiny one on my wrist and my Mum used to get them on the top of her feet too.
Surgery unfortunately was the only way to remove it and my Mum's grew again 4 times.

I'd say ganglion
Bone spurs would be deeper as well they are bones
It's an unusual place for a ganglion as they usually appear on joints when the synovial fluid leaks
It's worth sending the photo to the GP I think
I don't think the nhs will treat if it is a ganglion nowadays though

Dinnerisburnt · 04/07/2023 21:19

Thank you for the replies, I have sent the photo to my surgery, they will be in touch.

It's a ganglion cyst.

Minikievs · 04/07/2023 22:04

My mum had a ganglion on her foot in practically exactly the same place. The advice given to her was to hit it with a bible!
I wouldn't do that though.

Dinnerisburnt · 07/07/2023 00:30

It’s a ganglion cyst 😔 doctors can’t do anything. I think my sliders have caused it. 😆

I've got one on my collarbone - ganglion. Considered using the heavy book method to get rid, but I don't fancy getting throat-punched with an encyclopedia.

SuffolkUnicorn · 07/07/2023 00:45

Yep I’ve got one on each foot got from
wearing converse and they rub on my feet one day I fell back on my foot I heard crunch and had burst one of them the other one burst not long after I suggest kneeling and putting your weight on your feet

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 07/07/2023 00:55

I think it looks like a ganglion
