Fatties wishing to remain shrunk - tips on maintaining that target weight.

I have finally reached my target weight and am really pleased about it. However I weighed myself today and I've already put 1lb back on! Help! Yes I know its insignificant really but not if its the start of the slippery slope. Does anyone have any tips for maintaining a weight you are happy with?

I have been going to the gym 3x a week with a 20 minute run/jog and a few weights. I also try to be as active with DS as possible but on the other hand sit at a desk 3 days a week. Since this is the minimum recommended exercise I don't really want to cut down on it. So presumably I've got to start eating more (don't want to lose any more weight) but not too much more.....

Congratulations Bozza !

Don't panic, it does take a while to re-adjust eating habits once you've reached target (well it did for me). I've been at target since April and have been maintaining to within 2.5 lb either side - it started over and I now try to keep just under to allow for 'off' days.

I try to stay very sensible (good job this is a nickname !!) during the week then have treats at weekends.

You could also look at your gym programme; is it one that evolves or are you just going in, doing the same machines at the same levels/inclines/weights ? It's a trap lots of people fall into but to continue to benefit from it you need to be challenging your body out of its comfort zone (sorry, sounds like I work for celeb fat club..)
Try getting a review with a member of gym staff, or slightly increasing your effort levels (only a bit at a time though)

HTH, must dash, story time..

Thanks Twink. I've just had two weeks off the gym with a bad dose of sinusitis so am still building up to where I was anyway. I like your being sensible in the week and treats at weekends which is what I tried to do when losing the weight anyway. But my w/e starts at 5.30 pm on a Thursday....

I just don't want to get into a yoyo dieting scenario.
