Would they diagnose something like leukaemia over the phone?

A family member has been having various tests. Several repeat blood tests. The one before the most recent one said ‘screening for CLL’ on the blood test (a type of leukaemia)
another blood test since in which levels they are checking fir have gone up again.
They have a phone appointment with a hospital consultant soon but we are unsure whether this will be to put further tests in place or to diagnose.
Would they diagnose over the phone? Should I ensure she has someone with her? Or is it likely to be a call about further tests (as she thinks)
Anyone know?

Extremely unlikely as they would need to explain next steps. Yes have someone there for the call if they are worried. Can be useful if it is on speaker for someone else to take notes and suggest questions. It can be hard to think on the spot.

DP is a GP and he says that it won't be a diagnosis over the phone. In all likelihood it will be a call either to say there's nothing to worry about, or to arrange a biopsy. HTH.

@Hermanfromguesswho Hi, how is your family member doing? Did he see a doctor in the end or was it over the phone?
