Swelling in upper right hand side of abdomen

I have some swelling on one side on the upper right hand side of my abdomen.

No pain when touched although I occasionally have a slight ache as well as a sharp pain in the middle of my abdomen. I noticed the swelling at the weekend.

A few weeks ago I did have pain that felt like possible gallstone type pain, sharp and in the same area but nothing since then. No other health issues that I can think of.

I have a strong family history of pancreatic cancer (have lost both a parent and grandparent to this) and so I'm fearing the worst. I have a GP appointment next week but I feel like I'm losing my mind with worry in the meantime. Does anyone have any experience of this?

Op, sorry no experience of this but just wanted to say could you contact your GP to see if they can bring the appointment forward due to your worry and concerns; mentioning the family history. Also try and keep in mind that the symptoms you are experiencing could have many many other causes, including the dreaded gallstones which my poor mum had in that area!

Thanks for replying. Unfortunately I can't move the appointment any closer due to work but I'm trying to keep positive and not think the worst for now
