anxiety around eye pain

So I'll start this by saying I do suffer with anxiety which is why I'd like to look at this practically and not panic unnecessarily Smile

I have woken up today with a sore eye, it doesn't actually look any different to my other eye except for a tiny white dot in the middle of the waterline. However it is extremely painful. I can't even bear to touch the waterline it hurts so much. It is also uncomfortable to blink. I have no idea what this could be as there isn't any physical symptoms to look at? Also extremely reluctant to google because I'm certain it will tell me I'm going to go blind and die. I guess I'm asking is this something to keep a close eye Wink on or am I likely to wake up tomorrow with it gone?

Have a read of this to see if it seems similar.

If not, a call to 111 might reassure.

Stye

Find out about styes, including what causes them, what you can do to treat them and when to see a GP.

Sounds like a stye, they are super painful before they become more visible. I would start with a hot compress and massage with clean hands now to get on top of it. Once they get bigger it’s even worse to manage.
