Just to add we have an appointment at 4pm I just wondered if anyone has had this with their teens

My son is 13 autistic and severe OCD over his appearance and he is meticulous over his teeth, brushes really well, but last year had several issues with a top baby tooth and it causing problems, it took us numerous attempts to get it removed because of his anxiety, eventually in October we managed to get him to get it pulled, he coped with fine

Fast forward to now, no issues since october and now all of a sudden he has a big brown mark on his gum, it wasn't there recently until now, where the tooth was pulled. It's browny yellowy , not purple or bruise like. His new adult molar is due anytime but I'm worried what it is, and it's triggered his OCD as he dosent like how it looks on his gum. Could this be something to do with new molar? No pain at all, I'm hoping it's nothing as we had so much stress over the baby tooth and him coping 😭

I just wondered If anyone has had this and could reassure. Will update this evening

Did he say if it hurt?

It may be an eruption cyst but they are usually purply/bluish. Sometimes an erupting tooth looks very yellow when it's just under the gum.
Your dentist should be able to reassure him that all is well and it's a normal appearance for what is going on.
