Our little man has had an abscess above his front tooth for a while. There is another forming above the other front tooth. As soon as we found it we took him to our dentist. She referred him to the dental hospital and thought they would take the teeth out. He doesnt complain of pain.
The consultant amazed my husband by saying he wasnt going to take the front teeth out because they will come out naturally quite soon, but he booked him in for fissure sealant work on his other baby teeth. Our dentist said all his other teeth were OK apart from his front ones. The dental hospital said on X ray all his teeth but one show some type of decay and it was necessary to seal some of them. This puzzled me as they dont seem to treat the abscess. I thought they would drain it, give antibiotics etc.
Has anyone else had a child who has had a dental abscess treated? What did they do?
