Hi, just wondering if HCT test is high is it in anyway related to low b12 and low folic acid or what does it mean?

Thank you.

It could be but then again might not. I have this problem but no professional I've seen has been inclined to investigate further, sort of "just keep talking your tablets" kind of attitude

However, I have read something about some people carry a gene that means they can't absorb folic acid, this can also cause reduced B12 and increased concentration of red blood cells.

If this is the case you need to take methal folate and methal b12 as they are much easier to absorb. I get mine from Phoenix Nutrition. However I haven't had a blood test since making this change so can't say if it's worked.

Thank you. I'm on b12 injections and folic acid supplements but high HCT is highlighted in bold red on the test results.

GP is away for 3 weeks and googling isn't helping.
