Hi all has anyone taken the liquid sytron iron supplement?? and it made them have bad nightmares, and feel worse??

I can't take the normal iron tablets due to reflux and bowel conditions
I've tried floradix and this didn't do much
Spa tone the doctor told me isnt enough

Sytron is the only thing I can tolerate with my stomach, but I'm noticing other awful side effects 😔 I'm absolutely fed up , I can't win taking anything 😞
Im in peri and my hair is falling out so badly due to my ferritin levels it was 7 last checked.

But since I've been taking this stuff I've been waking up each morning feeling like I'm in a fibromyalgia flare, (I have fibro ) and every night without fail I've been having awful vivid dreams and awful morning brain fog
It has to be the sytron I was fine before
I just wondered if anyone else has had same

What else can I do/try? 😞

I do not wish to be unkind but given what is going on in your life it is unlikely due to the iron. Retired haematologist.

It most definitely is that as I was feeling fine before so I'm guessing it's an ingredient in it. I noticed the weird dreams on day one then it's continued every single night. I've not wanted to stop taking it because my iron levels need to be higher

It should be helping me with the low iron side of things it's a strong supplement I've noticed my energy levels are feeling better and moods but still getting weird vivid dreams nightly

It did not suit my child due to the e124 (the red colouring) - it made him extremely hyperactive. This side effect is noted in children but I'm not sure about adults. Are you taking it at night time? Perhaps take it in the morning if so and see if that makes a difference? There is an alternative, although the GP had never heard of this side effect and tried to fob me off. Rather unhelpfully I can't remember the name of the alternative we were given. Try asking a pharmacist?
