What's this on my toe?! Gross pic

I work on my feet a lot and have developed this painful, swollen lump on the side of my little toe. It hurts to put pressure on and even without touching sometimes. It has a hard middle too. Any ideas and how to treat it??

Yes definitely a corn. I finally plucked up courage today to see a podiatrist to have several removed from my feet as they were crippling me!

I've never had one before so had no idea. When you say removed, what is getting removed?! Is part of it coming out of my foot?

She removed the hard middle cores and the hard skin around it. I had one on my little toe like you but several on the souls of my feet. One in particular went very deep and it took some removing. I've got pretty sore feet now which is why I'm awake but hopefully it will feel better in a couple of days.
