Just wanted to moan really, I've felt dead ill since Sunday and practically been in bed most of the time Sun/Mon/Tue/Wed...and STILL feel horrible.

Head achey, flemy cough, pains in chest, aching back and legs and arms, bad stomach, sore throat, earache...urgh...

Went to docs and she said it's a viral infection and nothing you can do other than take paracetamol and ibuprofen every 4 hours (been doing that and they don't seem to make any difference).

I'm on Day 4/5 of this now - surely it's got to get better soon - grandparents have had kids during day most of week but i've got both of them on my own tomorrow and I'm scared...(if you're a mum and ill, you know how the thought of 2 small children all day is scary!)

Anyone had anything like this? How long will it last?

It sounds awful I don't think there is anything you can do. The kids will survive today (whether you do though..!) I hope you feel better quickly.

ive had this, the shitty stage for me lasted about three days then didnt feel too bad, i still feel chesty etc, but then ive had a cold on and off since xmas!!

If you are still in pain with the paracetemol and ibruprofen, get some co-codamol, which is paracetemol and codeine, you can get this over the counter now at the chemist. I found that worked for me as i cannot take ibruprofen, but you can still take the ibruprofen as well, but NOT paracetemol. IT does make you feel a bit spacey but more able to cope.

Get some antibacterial, anaesthetic laden throat sweets, strepsils are good, and some vitamins. Drink loads, and sleep as much as you can today.

I sat DD (2.5) down with a pair of scissors and the argos catalogue and a glue stick - she made a right royal mess, but was happy to sit on the mat for ages while i moped on the sofa. Then there is always Cebeebees

Hope you feel better soon
