48, no kids, possibly in perimenopause.
I have been suffering with urinary incontinence for about 6 months and at my first consult, my GP suggested physical therapy (assuming age, perimenopause/hormonal changes) and nothing else.
At that appointment, I had a urine sample taken where the results came in the following day with red blood cells slightly elevated, and a moderate amount of Epithelial cells were found and also low levels of yeast. But all within normal range so nothing was actioned.
Fast forward 4 months later, I go for my first physical therapy appointment where they did another urine sample and now they've found blood in my urine so they had to pause therapy and now I'm worried.
Wouldn't the elevated levels of red blood cells in the presence of urinary leakage together not be enough of a red flag to initiate further investigations (ultrasound/CT scan) to ensure there is nothing more serious present (bladder/kidngey cancer, kidney failure, etc)?
Waiting to speak to my GP about it now but it's the longest 5 days ever.
