Vision blurry in one eye... any similar stories?

I have had slight blurry vision in one eye for a 18 months and for the last 4 it has got worse. It is like looking through frosted glass in that eye. Central and peripheral vision

Other eye is 100% fine.
No pain, no headaches, no other symptoms.

Was referred to Corneal specialists who said he couldn't see anything wrong with the cornea or retina other than a pale optic nerve in that eye.
Not glaucoma, not retinopathy, not cataract, not corneal dystrophy

Been referred for an MRI and for neuro-ophthalmology tests as he thinks it could be something about the electric signals.

I know I need to wait to see the other specialists, but I was hoping someone had gone through similar and it been an easy fix!

Retinal detachment here. But they would have noticed that

Oh goodness! Wishing you well, OP - I hope you’re being looked after well.

Oh my goodness op, that’s a shock I imagine. Hope it all goes well and you are ok.

ItchyKondera · 15/06/2023 12:07

thanks all. I'd kind of assumed it was some sort of tumour after ruling out other things, Ophthalmologist originally thought Pituitary tumour from the scan but after further review by radiology its a meningioma pressing on my optic nerve. They are usually benign so thats good.
No date yet, but imagine sooner rather than later so they can stop any further vision loss.

How are you doing @ItchyKondera ?

I am facing something similar - similar symptoms, had MRI and meningioma diagnosis - seeing neurosurgeon on Monday and feeling rather nervous....

Hope things are going really well for you

Hello! All fine now! Had it removed via craniotomy in August 2023. Couple side effect seizures but visual field back up to 88% in affected eye.
No long term side effects other than my memory is shoddy nowand a bit of memory loss but of inconsequential things like movies I've seen before the op.

Recovery was relatively easy, was back at work after 4 weeks which was a bit of a mistake as I was still so exhausted.

This is SO good to hear @ItchyKondera ... I am so very very glad.

Hope you are enjoying life and looking after yourself - and I hear the advice about not rushing back to work!
