Why is my knee taking so long to heal?

At the soft play area my ds rugby tackled me round the ankles as I was coming out of the loo. I came crashing down face first. There was an incredibly sharp pain and I looked down fully expecting my knee to be pouring with blood but it wasn't.

That was two months ago so why is my knee still so painful some of the time? I used to sit cross legged but can't now. There are loads of yoga positions I can no longer do and it even hurts in the night when I change position in bed.

What;s going on?

Has anyone had a bad knee for months which has fully recovered?

Sorry, no practical knowledge but I hope it feels better soon. Is gentle exercise helpful at all? A good yoga teacher should be able to advise...I think....

You should see a doctor really.

You need the doc, spider. It's probably nothing, (major joints can take a hell of a long time to heal), but make an appointment anyway.

And if you're familiar with yoga, remember the golden rule. Stand with your weight equally distributed, and all ten toes touching the floor. If you have a tendency to slump to one side (most people do), then it might make it worse on your injured knee.
