I want to claw my nose off...

Trivial question, I know, as it's just a virus and I will get better. But at the moment I feel like shoving a bottle brush up my left nostril. It's driving me mad - constant intense itch and batshit sneezing. I started sneezing at 2.30 last night and didn't stop for an hour and a half. Is there anything I can take (I don't think a bottle brush would be that good...)? So far I've tried decongestant nasal sprays (made it worse), antihistamines (perhaps it's hay fever - it isn't), sudafed (did help a little I think but made me feel rather odd and spacey).
My right nostril is fine. Sigh.
Thanks

Nasal douche? Pretty unpleasant but works wonders for a range of problems for me.

I would try a antihistamine nasal spray like Beconase. It sounds like you either have a spot up there irritating the nasal lining or an extra long hair. Personally I would get the tweezers up there and do some pulling. It only takes one hair thats a mm or two longer than the rest to create havoc.

Thanks - yes. I had a sinus infection just before Christmas (same side) and the nurse practitioner who prescribed ABs said to get a neti pot. I guess I need to!

You don't need a Neti pot to do a nasal douche. Just sniff it up out of your cupped hand. Works fine
