penicillin on an empty stomach - can anyone manage that with a toddler?

DD is on penicillin for tonsilitis. She was heaps better after the first two doses. I have as yet not managed to do the 'take on an empty stomach an hour before food' thing. My toddler never has an empty stomach! It's virtually impossible to fit four empty stomachs into a 7am to 7pm toddler day.
Does anyone know how much difference it makes? She's clearly better but I know how important it is to finish a course of antibiotics and wonder if this will have any longer term impact on how well they work.
Any pharmacists/docs/people who know more than me about?
