PCOS - who has it and how do you manage it?

I was diagnosed about 20 years ago and prescribed metformin. This diagnosis was made based on hairiness, no other tests and I had no problem conceiving.

What is the modern way of diagnosing the condition and has treatment developed? Have things changed for this condition? I am now nearly 50 and finding it more difficult than usual to manage my weight

I was officially diagnosed last year- I had bloods taken and my hormone levels had indicated PCOS, this was then confirmed with an ultrasound.

I’ve just been prescribed metformin to help with weight loss so I don’t think much has changed in that respect. The doctor also recommended a low carb/high protein diet

I was diagnosed at 26, 12 years ago.
I had blood tests and then an ultrasound. She confirmed PCOS then waved me off and that was it.
Not prescribed anything for the condition but I’m definitely heavier than I ‘should’ be. I’m not trying to lose it though, I’m quite happy with my shape/size.
