How long for swelling/bruising to go down

A month ago I tripped on a box at work and hit the inside of my ankle about an inch or so above the ankle bone. It swelled up and was quite painful. It was bruised, but not very dark, started green then faded.

The skin has returned to normal colour, but there's still a lump there which feels bruised to touch, and my ankle still aches sometimes. I've still been able to exercise though (nothing high impact, just walking/cycling/yoga/weights).

I'm not sure if this is normal, or if it should be better by now? I banged my hip on a chest of drawers about a week after this incident (I know, clumsy!), and that was a darker bruise, but not swollen. No sign of any bruise, or pain at all now.

Could you have sprained it?
Sprained ankles can thaw about 6 weeks + to heal in my experience.

Possibly. I'm more worried about the lump. It's not visible to the eye, but I can feel it when I touch it, and it hurts to touch, like a bruise

Sometimes it doesn't disappear. I have 2 both from falling. One right at the top on the inside of my thigh from when I slipped getting in the bath and cracked my leg on the edge of the bath. That one was 13 years ago and the other one is a huge one on the back of my neck and upper back from a bad fall which was 8 years ago. They don't bother me and I've just learned to live with them.

Are they just lumps now, that are painless? As long as the bruised feeling goes away, I can live with the lump.

@dollybird yeah just painless lumps now. The one on my neck occasionally bothers me if I have something heavy around the back of my neck or a top that sits just in the wrong place but other than that unless I catch a side glimpse in the mirror I often forget it's there.
