Gynaecology appointment on period?

I have an appointment tomorrow for a lump I found on my vulva (external) but I started my period a day early- does anyone know is it ok to go still? And should I wear a tampon since it's an external check or is it best not to just incase they need to look anywhere else?

I would still go :) they won't mind at all. Wear whatever you feel more comfortable with. Probably a tampon would be less messy?! Remember they have seen everything! Hope all goes well.

Absolutely go with a tampon in.
If they need to check inside they’ll either do it or call you back.
I have waxes on my period all the time.

I would definitely still go. It will be fine, just let the doctor know. I speak from experience after having a coil inserted on the first day of a very heavy period, messy but fine!
